PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION (PSR) PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Welcome to the St. Michael Parish School of Religion (PSR.) We hope that on this page you will find all the resources you need to be well informed of our program and what this year's program will look like. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact our PSR Director, Todd Dockrill at 216.524.1394 x32 or tjd@stmichaelchurchindependence.org.
Our Mission
Our goal, the only reason we exist, is to provide our students with the tools necessary to establish and maintain a loving relationship with God (and, therefore, with one another) through Catholic Christianity. We expose the students to a variety of devotions in order to meet the needs of differing spiritualities which are as unique as a person’s personality.
We provide sacramental preparation for reconciliation (2nd grade) and for your child’s full initiation into the Catholic Church through the Eucharist in 2nd grade and Confirmation in 8th grade.

Our Program
St. Michael PSR is a Co-op.
The Catholic Church believes that you, the parents, are the primary educators in regards to religious education. You set the example and in many ways the attitude your child will exhibit by the priority you place upon religious education.
We cannot stress enough the impact participating in the Liturgy together as a family will have on the growth of your children but also your family as a whole. To be a part of the PSR program without embracing the core of our faith - the Mass - simply does not make sense. The Church needs you and your family - you are the future of the Church - You ARE the Church.
2024-2025 PROGRAM OVERVIEW
We are offering two options for PSR this year:
Full program ($75/student for the entire year, which includes the cost of the book and all materials.)
Homeschool program (no in-person classes - $75/student which covers the cost of the book and includes the class syllabus as a pacing guide.)
Classes are on Tuesday nights from 6:15pm-7:30pm
PSR will begin the last week of September and run through the second week of May.
